Our story

arcade was born out of a desire to build community. After moving back from America to raise our kids, we found ourselves arriving just as the pandemic hit. Two years of on-and-off lockdowns left us craving connection, so we made the spontaneous decision to buy a coffee truck. Our plan was simple: sell coffee in our local village and meet people, with a few baked goods thrown in—nothing major. Little did we know, this small idea would grow into something much bigger.

Baking had always been a passion of ours, and as we began baking sourdough loaves—something we made for ourselves at home—we realized there was a gap in our area: no one was baking fresh, preservative-free sourdough. This sparked a shift in our focus. We were determined to offer the community something different—something made from scratch, with love and quality. After completing courses with Sourdough expert Wayne Caddy and at the School of Artisan Food (specializing in Modern and Traditional Viennoiserie), we began offering sourdough loaves, croissants, and pastries as our core products.

When we started arcade, we had little expectation other than to build community. Fast forward three years, and Arcade has become a true reflection of who we are. Tim’s food trucks embody his vision of the Arcade experience: offering locally sourced coffee, drinks, sourdough pizzas, and fresh pastries—while also celebrating his love for gaming. His events bring people together with Nintendo Switch, VR headsets, and more.

Our values guide everything we do and keep us grounded in our purpose.

Karen’s arcade is the heart of the Bakehouse—where the focus is on slow, Scandi-inspired vibes. It’s a place for people to gather, break bread, and share a moment. Life moves fast, but we believe every pause should be meaningful. The world can wait when you’ve got a great cup of coffee and a warm croissant fresh out of the oven.

That’s arcade in a nutshell. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Community

We believe in the power of bringing people together. In today’s fast-paced world, creating space for connection is more important than ever. Whether it’s sharing a pizza, a few cups of tea, or toasting a giant loaf of bread, we aim to build a welcoming environment where people can slow down and enjoy meaningful moments together. Our mission goes beyond simply feeding people — it’s about fostering community through shared experiences.

Quality

If we’re going to do something, we’re going to do it right. We’ve trained under masters of bread and pastry, striving to create something truly special — something you won’t find on a supermarket shelf. We use high-quality, locally sourced ingredients and avoid additives and preservatives, championing honest, handmade food that’s made fresh every day.

Education

We’re passionate about sharing knowledge and reviving the art of baking — especially bread-making. Sourdough might seem intimidating at first, but we believe that learning to bake preservative-free, additive-free food is both empowering and deeply rewarding. Through our classes and workshops, we aim to pass on the skills, confidence, and joy of baking so others can create their own delicious, nourishing food at home.
